Free Write 3/5/2013

It's finally March meaning it's almost time for Spring Break. Actually spring break is next week, and that means i get to go home on Sunday! I haven't seen my family in 2 months and I am beyond excited to see them again. On saturday I am heading to St. Louis with my boyfriend thenon sunday at th ebutt crack of dawn i am making him wake up and take me to the train station so I can go home.
Being away from your family has its advantages and disadvantages. An advantage is I get to live on my own and get a taste of what it's like to be independent. I pay all my own bills, rent, school, and food suplies by myself. Yeah it does suck having to pay for all that by myself, but that's adult life for you. There isn't always going to be someone out there to take care of you. I had to grow up real fast and I am proud of myself that I did because I learned that not everything in life will be handed to you on a silver platter, you have to go out there and fight for what you want. Throughout my life. my parents have given my siblings and I all that we have ever wanted. I am so blessed to have parents like them. However, when it came to school and cars that was a luxury they couldn't afford for themselves, let alone 3 kids.

My childhood was filled with playing outside, roughhousing, going on vacations to the different states, and even once to Jamaica. Going downtown Chicago is one my favorite memories as a child because there was always something to do. My mom never cared for the city, so going downtown was a privilege that we seldom got.
